Grandkids

I get so caught up in watching for everyone's new blogs that I forget that maybe mine needs updating. Ashlee has come and gone and left a few projects for me. It was so good to see them all. Jacksen was a little leary of "Grandma", but then decided that maybe I wasn't too scary. Bennett is growing so fast. Still very independent. We had fun getting some pictures of them at the park.





On Saturday I took Ashlee and the boys to meet Matt in Grace. I had never been to Grace and it was fun to get to see Matt's mom and dad. Michelle called and said that I was only an hour away from Logan, so why didn't I meet her in Logan and have some lunch. I was up for the idea and so I followed Matt and Ashlee to Logan, where we had lunch and they left for AZ. Michelle and I did some shopping and then I went to her home to see the Hammond kids. It was a fun day. It had been quite a while since I had seen them.



















Heather and Ethan came up from Utah for the weekend and I got to see Ethan for awhile on Friday. He came to the school and did some trick or treating and then spent some time with Grandma Betty and Uncle Bill before he left to spend a couple of weeks with his dad.



It has been a couple of busy weeks. I have wonderful grandchildren. I am very blessed.

A Surprisingly Wonderful Weekend

Friday night I went to the movies with Cecelia and AnnMarie. We had an enjoyable evening. I came home and was watching a movie on TV and then decided to give HB a late night call to see how she was doing. She said that she was just driving around and then said that she was just around the corner from home. Then she asked if I would open the garage door for her. She had driven up to pick up Ethan and spend a couple of days with me. It was a wonderful surprise. I can hardly wait until Ashlee gets to come up in October for a few days. I miss everyone so badly so I really enjoy the visits. HB and I went out to the corner to take some pictures of Ethan. We ended up staying later than we had planned. Dianna came up from Utah and brought Chloe. Justin, Aubree and Eli were here for a short visit before moving back, and AnnMarie came out to see all of them. We helped Diana pick apples and then stayed for hamburgers. It was the first hamburger from the grill that I had had in a very long time. It tasted soooo good. Thanks Les. It was a perfect day--temperature and company. Thanks for coming up Heather and letting me share in time spent with Ethan and you. I am hoping to see lots of new posts talking about the exciting weekends you have all had. Here are a few of the pictures we took this weekend. I hope HB will post more of them.

It's Been A While

I guess that I have had trauma from the last blog that I posted and it has been hard to get to another. I am back at school and finding that I don't really take the time to post a blog, I just read what others have to say and complain that they have not posted anything in a while! Crazy! What are they thinking when I want to see something new? This is one of the roses from the bushes that I planted this spring, proving that good things come to those who wait.
Michelle came to spend the weekend with me. It was so good to have her to myself. We stayed up late and had some good girl talk. Thanks Michelle and by the way keep up the work on the bows. I am grateful to have 3 beautiful, smart and talented daughters. I need more pictures of all the grandkids. I am looking for new and updated blogs from all of you.

On Top of the World

Wednesday, Cecelia and I went on a hike. It was a trail that we had hiked several times before. I did not remember, however, how the trail went straight up! The pain and the agony was well worth it. We had a lovely view of the valley and the river. We rested when we reached the top and had a little lunch. The journey down was much faster. All was well until we were almost at the end of the trail. Suddenly there was a noise that we could not identify. There are cattle that are in that area because of open grazing. They began mooing in a kind of frantic way. We looked at each other and decided we would hurry a bit. Cecelia was telling me a story when suddenly there was a very low, long growling coming from the bushes about 10 to 12 feet away. She just kept talking until I asked "Do you hear that?" She said "yes" and just kept talking. We went as fast as we could to our cars. When we got there I asked her why she just kept talking. She was letting whatever it was know that we were there. What a relief to get to the car. We don't know what it was--bear, large cat, wolf--whatever--I am glad to be safe. We were going to hike that trail once a week all summer so that we could get in shape. We are now trying to think about somewhere in town without so much adventure. What do you think? Would everyone like to join us in another hike in the mountains? You know what they say about safety in numbers. Well the view was beautiful and it was soooo worth the scare.

The Move

Well, we made it! HB, Ash, Bennett, Jacksen, Matt and I headed to Utah on Saturday. We arrived at about 2 min after 1:00 and were met by a sign stating that they had left for lunch and would be back at 2:00. Great! What do you do with 2 young boys in the hot sun for 1 hour? When the office opened again, HB went in to hear that the Apt was not ready and she could not move in until late Monday. Yikes! What do we do with all her stuff? Thankfully, Matt saved the day and she got to put things in that night. Now she is all moved in and is needing her TV and Internet. (Withdrawal is not a pretty thing.) I am now back home working on getting my house cleaned out. I have way too much stuff. I need a house diet. Thanks to Matt and Ashlee for helping. This was just practice for when you move.

I just figured out how to post a picture! I know the strawberries are not very impressive in this picture but I will get a picture of them now. If the weather would just warm up a bit and the sun would keep from hiding in a cloud I think I may have some success. We are getting ready for Heather to move to Utah. It is bitter sweet. I am excited to see her have this adventure, but I am losing my roomie and little Ethan. She is going to have such a great time. Matt has been a good sport (being the only man around) in getting all the big items together for the move. Cecelia and Les also have helped to furnish the new apartment. Now let's see if we can get it all to Utah without anything blowing out.

All things bright and beautiful

I got on a plant ordering frenzy this spring and ordered a ton of plants (for me anyway). I also ordered some for Michelle for her birthday. I hope that they survive me. I am hoping that she will get charge of them by Saturday. Anyway, I have been having boxes left on my doorstep saying "Caution, Live Plants". Yikes, I don't know what to do with them. Today was a very nice day and I was in the planting mood. I stopped to pick up Ethan and talked Ashlee into bringing Bennett and Jacksen over to play in the yard while I planted. Bad choice. I forgot how small my back yard is in comparison to 3 young boys. Also, you don't have children around when you are playing in the dirt and then tell them "don't touch". I am proud to say that all of the plants are planted and I hope to have roses, hollyhocks and strawberries to enjoy this summer. I will try to post pictures. None of the plants are very impressive yet. I will try to keep everyone up on their progress.

Someone happened to mention to me that you would need to add comments to give meaning to one's own blog. What a novel idea. I still do not have any pictures or anything meaningful to say so I will write later when something exciting or not happens in my life. This may be my last blog. Urgh! I hate to be so negative. Oh yes, I went to the Smothers Brothers with Sharron Poole on Saturday evening. It was an enjoyable time to laugh with a good friend.

Okay, so this is a first for me. Not that I don't talk alot, but I never really feel that I need to say something that would make sense to anyone. Thus the title "juliejargon".
